Our client is Dr. Matthew MacEwan, who has a PhD in biomedical engineering and MD in neurosurgery from Washington University in St. Louis. He has created various bioresorbable materials, surgical meshes, and high-frequency nerve block stimulators. Our project will focus on the combination of two of his interests by developing a bioresorbable device that uses an electrical nerve stimulation to block pain after invasive surgeries. The device will be accompanied by an external wireless device that controls the frequency of stimulator. As of September 14th, 2018, we have completed our need statement and scope of the project. We are currently working on the Gantt chart to plan the project in full and the time needed for each task as well as researching further design specifications.
